summer excuses.

I love summer.
It gives you the perfect excuse to take a break from the real world and relish in it's glory.
Summer doesn't care if you are cranky, tired, or stressed.
Summer doesn't get it's feelings hurt if you don't call that evening-- or if you break dinner plans, or if your house is messy. Summer beckons freedom. Summer is my oasis.
Summer helps you escape.
Summer makes excuses for you.

The excuse to pick flowers to put on the dining room table.

The excuse to wear a rather large, floppy white hat anywhere. (Summer says it's alright...)
The excuse to make a special trip downtown to visit the candy store. That's what Summer says to do...
...and to help yourself to an extra hand full. (Summer insists.)

Summer won't look twice if you decide to sip sweet green apple sodey pop all the live-long day.
Summer smiles.
Summer accepts your excuse to spend most of the afternoon hunting bugs in the cool, green grass... until your legs itch. (Thank you Summer!)
Summer is always awake on those early, every other weekend zips around the warm sky. No excuse needed!
Summer finds delight in presenting you with her bounty. Summer is excited in your excitement!

I love Summer.

Do you have ripe tomatoes already? I just went out to my garden pleading with my tomatoes to go from green to red. Sigh. At least the zucchini is going nuts.

Jefferson...I've visited that place once...for a very short visit. I thought it was a fun little town. Loved Lake o the Pines!

ah yes, summer. it almost seems like a dream this past week. It's been more fall-like here with below average temperatures and rain, rain rain....but i'm sure it will perk up and bring us some heat...just not too much heat. :)
although i think that something else that says summer is a cool, dark movie theater with popcorn at the ready (we just got back from the free movie -- makes for an early morning...but you can't beat a kids movie for free!)

Thanks for the lovely picture of summer! We've had so much dreary rain that your post brought a glimpse of hope for August!

summer in Texas is so much better than summer in AZ! I love the candy store! My favorite are the laffy taffys from my childhood~and those tomatoes are so pretty!

I've heard so much about the candy store but haven't been yet. This summer sounds idyllic.
