Last month, I was bored.
Jeff was out of town.
It was hot, and summers vacations were too far away to look forward too.
We needed something to do.
So, we loaded up into the car-- and away we drove.
We drove, and drove, and drove...
We got lost once (okay, twice) looking for:
What is this place? An obscure little store, waaaaaaaay on the outskirts of any substantial town...
past lots of farm fields, cows, and nothingness.
Even my GPS was confused.
"Turn right here!" The GPS lady chirped.
I turned, and the road hit a dead end.
Luckily, the Big Red Barn is out on the open land, all alone... in the middle of nowhere.
So, we found it with old navigational indian techniques and cold, hard, luck.
So, why did I drive for miles and miles to this silly red barn?

YUM! I have an unnatural love of black licorice, and real watermelon, not jolly rancher type, but the fresh stuff.
I love driving to small out of the way stores! My favorite around home is Skull Valley for a snow cone. Was the ice cream good?
Watermelon ice cream...oh yummm! Since moving from a west coast big city to an east coast country town my GPS gets me lost everyday...lol Sometimes that's how you find some of the best places :)
Where are you these days???
I don't know if i've commented before, but I wanted to say again how much i love your blog! really. so fun! i have two boys too...4 and 1. I wish i were more creative like you...but you inspire.
I would love to know where this place is. It is going to be at the top of my list to take my kids. And, my hubby would love the licorice flavor.
